Botim and Mbank Launch UAE’s First Fintech-Integrated Jaywan Card
In a landmark move for the UAE’s digital economy, Astra Tech’s flagship platform *Botim* has partnered with *Mbank*, one of the country’s leading digital banks, to launch the UAE’s first fintech-integrated Jaywan card* scheme.
The collaboration was officially announced at the Dubai Fintech Summit during a signing ceremony attended by Dr. Tariq Bin Hendi, CEO and Board Member of Astra Tech & Botim, and Mohammed Wassim Khayata, CEO of Mbank.
The Jaywan scheme—developed under the guidance of the Central Bank of the UAE and powered by Network International—is the country’s first national payment card system. It aims to boost financial independence, reduce reliance on international networks, and cater to the growing need for localized, interoperable digital payment solutions.
Through this partnership, Botim, enabled by PayBy, becomes the first fintech platform in the UAE to issue Jaywan cards. This step aligns with the Central Bank’s broader national payment strategy and the UAE’s vision of transitioning to a cashless society. The new prepaid card offers Botim users a secure, digital-first payment method for seamless transactions across the country.
Dr. Bin Hendi commented, “Launching the Jaywan scheme on Botim reflects our strategic vision to expand access to digital financial services across the UAE. By embedding this national payment solution into our platform, we’re giving users more control over their finances while supporting the country’s digital transformation agenda.”
Mohammed Wassim Khayata added, “Our partnership with Botim reflects a shared commitment to financial innovation and inclusion. The introduction of the Jaywan card scheme is a major step forward in delivering next-generation digital banking experiences tailored to the evolving needs of UAE residents.”
Verified users will be able to apply for and activate their Jaywan prepaid card directly through the Botim app—without needing a traditional bank account—further democratizing access to secure, digital payments.
This initiative expands Botim’s growing fintech ecosystem, which already includes multi-currency prepaid cards, global remittances, micro-lending, and in-chat financial tools. The integration of the Jaywan scheme strengthens Botim’s position as a leading digital lifestyle platform, setting a new benchmark for fintech innovation in the MENA region.
