Ctrl Alt, a leading tokenization infrastructure platform, has officially secured its license from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) to operate as a Virtual Assets Service Provider (VASP). Notably, Ctrl Alt is the first VASP authorized by VARA to offer issuer-related services, marking a groundbreaking achievement in the UAE’s digital asset ecosystem.
This license empowers Ctrl Alt to provide full-stack, regulatory-compliant services including Broker-Dealer and Issuer activities, enabling the creation, management, and distribution of tokenized real-world assets and ARVA tokens. The license underscores Ctrl Alt’s pioneering role, exemplified by its collaboration with the Dubai Land Department on the Real Estate Tokenization Project, where it developed the framework for minting and placing real estate tokens on-chain.
Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a global hub for innovation and digital assets, thanks to its forward-thinking regulatory environment led by VARA. Since its establishment in 2022, VARA has been instrumental in fostering Dubai’s growing digital economy—a key factor in Ctrl Alt’s decision to establish regional operations in 2024.
Matt Ong, Founder and CEO of Ctrl Alt, said, “Receiving our VARA license reflects our commitment to long-term regulatory alignment as we build the infrastructure for next-generation financial products.”
Robert Farquhar, Head of MENA at Ctrl Alt, added, “Dubai’s progressive regulatory framework provides a strong foundation for tokenization innovation. We are proud to support this vision by delivering secure and compliant tokenization infrastructure for real-world asset issuance.”
With this approval, Ctrl Alt joins an expanding network of licensed VASPs operating in one of the world’s most advanced regulatory environments for Web3 and digital asset innovation.
