Dubai, UAE – Emirates NBD has become the first bank in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to commit to the WELL at Scale certification, reinforcing its leadership in sustainability, employee well-being, and responsible banking.
Partnering with the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), Emirates NBD is aligning its workspaces with global standards for health and wellness. The WELL at Scale program is designed to help large organizations implement holistic wellness strategies across their properties, enabling them to measure, improve, and showcase performance in areas linked to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) impact and human health.

Emirates NBD is already recognized as a regional leader in sustainable real estate, with the highest number of LEED Platinum certified commercial and retail projects across MENA. The WELL certification further strengthens this reputation, supporting a company-wide wellness strategy that prioritizes employee health, comfort, and productivity.

The bank’s broader sustainability efforts are reflected in its signing of the UN Principles for Responsible Banking in 2024, aligning its operations with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement.
