Dubai, UAE – Mastercard has launched Account Intelligence Reissuance, a cutting-edge fraud prevention service aimed at transforming how card reissuance is handled in the Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EEMEA) region. This innovative solution harnesses the power of Mastercard’s proprietary Artificial Intelligence (AI) and network insights to evaluate the risk associated with compromised cards and deliver real-time, data-driven recommendations for monitoring or replacing them.
Card fraud remains a significant challenge for the financial ecosystem, costing card issuers and merchants billions of dollars each year. Traditionally, issuers manually categorize compromised primary account numbers (PANs) and reissue cards based on assessed risk — a process that is both time-consuming and resource-intensive.
With Account Intelligence Reissuance, Mastercard is automating and optimizing this process. The service significantly enhances fraud prevention by enabling issuers to quickly identify the most vulnerable cards and take timely action. It addresses both physical and digital card skimming threats with unmatched precision and efficiency.
“At Mastercard, we’re committed to providing intelligent, data-driven tools to strengthen fraud prevention efforts. With Account Intelligence Reissuance, issuers can aggregate data, assess risk, and prioritize card replacements more effectively. This solution, powered by our advanced AI technology, represents a major leap forward in securing cardholders and reducing fraud,” said Selin Bahadirli, Executive Vice President, Services, EEMEA at Mastercard.
As the digital economy evolves, fraudsters are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Mastercard continues to stay ahead of these challenges by expanding its ecosystem of AI-driven security products. Leveraging its Decision Intelligence capabilities, the company analyzes over 159 billion transactions annually to detect and prevent fraud across all stages of the payment lifecycle. Enhanced by generative AI (GenAI), Mastercard’s systems now process account, transaction, device, and merchant data even more quickly and accurately — enabling real-time fraud detection and response.
In parallel, Mastercard is advancing regional AI capabilities through its Center for Advanced AI and Cyber Technology in Dubai, created in collaboration with the UAE’s Office for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications. This Center serves as a hub for developing innovative AI tools that address cyber threats, data breaches, and fraud, further strengthening the digital safety of governments, financial institutions, merchants, and consumers across the region.
Following its rollout in EEMEA, Account Intelligence Reissuance is expected to expand to Asia Pacific, North America, and Latin America later this year — reinforcing Mastercard’s global mission to create a safer, smarter digital economy.
